Non Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy (NSSD)

In 2007, the Academy of Pain Management announced at its annual conference the results of a study that showed a 50% reduction in pain scores. The treatment was two weeks on the DRX9000c machine which is most commonly used in non-surgical spinal decompression treatment. What’s even more incredible is what happened after a six-week protocol. The patients saw an amazing success rate of 88.9% in reduction of pain that was documented!

DRX9000 True Spinal Decompression Treatment For Low Back Pain

Today, Spinal Decompression therapy is one of the key services that we offer that can be used to treat a wide variety of neck and back pain. The goal of Spinal Decompression is to get healthy movement back into the affected area by stretching the spine. Here at Pinto Chiropractic, we use the latest DRX9000c units to bring you the best health results we can.

Our commitment is to deliver the highest quality care and results using equipment that has been cleared by the FDA for the treatment of pain from spinal compression and other imbalances.

This type of procedure is called Non-Surgical Decompression Therapy. In this treatment, both traction and decompression therapy are applied with the goals of relieving back or neck pain and promoting an optimal healing environment for herniated, bulging or degenerating discs.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is applied to the spine to:

  • Create a negative intradiscal pressure to help retract or reposition the herniated or bulging disc
  • Create a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an increase in nutrients and other substances into the disc itself

The NEW Low Back Pain Treatment Solution

At Pinto Chiropractic, we are committed to improving the well-being of our clients. Our results speak for themselves.

In the past, clients that had suffered from disc problems often were provided some relief with traditional spinal care. Quite often they still had recurring pain from the disc because the issue was unable to be fully addressed with spinal correction alone. Our advice at the time was simply to advise clients to refrain from physical activity. If they couldn’t maintain their spinal correction and no progress was seen then it was often recommended they seek spinal surgery. For many patients, it can feel like surgery is their last-ditch option because no other possibility existed… until now.

Patient’s at Pinto Chiropractic don’t have to live with pain anymore. It took the joined efforts of a top team of Physicians and medical engineers to develop the spinal decompression methods we have today to address a wide range of conditions that people come to us to find relief for. Spinal decompression does more than just significantly reduce pain in many patients — it also enables the vast majority of our patients to return to a more active lifestyle.

What does a Spinal Decompression visit look and feel like?

During a Spinal Decompression session, patients lay on a motorized table and a harness is placed around their hips and this harness is attached to the DRX9000c near the patient’s knees.  An upper harness is attached just above their waist. The upper part of the table remains fixed while the lower part slides back and forth to provide traction and relaxation.

Typically, our patients do not feel any pain during or after the decompression therapy although they should feel the stretch of the spine. Spinal Decompression may be recommended as a potential treatment for a variety of lower back and neck conditions.
